課程說明
        Course Description
    藉由講述生態學的相關研究案例,導引學生如何去瞭解生命的起源與演化機制。介紹一些利用現代生命科學技術,幫助我們研究相關生態領域問題的案例。讓大家體驗到生命的奧秘與珍貴之處,更進一步的去關懷生命與保護生態。
    或許我們對於生活周遭的環境與事物都還有一知半解,但是對於何為生命,以及什麼是生命的感覺可能瞭解得非常有限。現代的生命科學雖然逐漸的瞭解許許多多生命的現像與機制,但是還是有許多未知的謎。在微觀的世界裡,細胞與分子層級的相關領域,或許是現代生命科學的主流。
    DNA 定序、遺傳密碼的解讀、蛋白質結構等的技術更是巧妙的幫助人類了解各種生命的奧妙。但是在自然界裡,生命和生態之間那種更為巧奪天工的密切關係,說不定連現代生命科學都很難解釋清楚。我們如果可以多從生態的觀察上去下手,或許會對於生命的奧秘有更多的認識和珍惜!這是我們這門通識課程,希望帶領大家浸淫在生態與生命的世界的主要目的。 

    By explaining the study cases about the ecology, I will instruct students to know how to understand the mechanism of the origin and evolution of life. By introducing some modern life science and technology and how they help us to study the related field of ecology of the cases, I hope students will be able to experience the mysteries and preciousness of life, and learn to care about the lives and to protect the ecological environment.

    Although we have some basic knowledge about the surroundings, our knowledge of what life andthe feeling of life are is pretty limited. Modern Biological Science has explored many phenomena and mechanisms about life gradually, but there are still many unknown mysteries remained. In the microscopic world, the related fields of cellular and molecular level might be the mainstream of modern life science.

    The technologies of sequencing of DNA, the interpretation of the genetic code and protein structure are the secret of the ingenious which helps humans to understand Biology. However, the complex relation between biology and ecology in natural world might be hard to explain clearly even by the modern Biological Science. Therefore, if we can approach it by observing, we might gain more knowledge about the mysteries of life. And the above are the core of this curriculum. We hope to lead students to the world of ecology and biology.

Description of the course
          數位時代來臨,藉由攝影機拍攝並製作成影音作品,傳遞訊息,已成數位化生活的一部份。本課程將與學生一同探討影像的製作 : 如何將意念與創意,藉由影像製作,成熟且清晰地傳遞出去 ; 並充分運用清大現有的攝影棚,讓學生參與實際的電視媒體製作環境。希望藉由電視製作的理論與實務課程,讓學生接觸影音創作的有趣世界。 
The digital era is coming. To pass the message and do the audio-visual works by the cameras has become a part of the digitized life.This course will explore the production of images with the students: how to spread the ideas and creativity through video production maturely and clearly? We will use the studio in National Tsing Hua University to let students take parts in the media production environment.I hope through the theory and practice of television production course, students can touch the interesting world of audio and video creation.

       This course aims at introducing students government and politics of America, including its major elected offices (president, senators, congressmen and state governors), nomination process (caucuses and primaries), political parties and candidates, campaign issues and financing, and the general election. In addition, there will be discussion on American foreign policy. We are going to use President Barack Obama’s major speeches and his book as the basis of our approach.

       This class is comprised of both lecture and discussion. Students are expected to participate in class discussion. This is considered to be an integral part of the learning process and will be weighed in the final grade. The medium of communication in this course is English. Texts, lecture, examinations, report, and class discussion will all be conducted in English. 【課程介紹】
       Description of the course

        歷史是一門時間的學問,演變與發展當然是重要的課題,但是造成重大變化,推動整體發展,仍然是人的努力。因此,關於人物的性格與表現, 人們的關懷與心態,應是這門課程的講授重點。在教師的引導下,帶領同學進入離我們已有千年以上的中國古代,認識一些人們的活動,瞭解他們的處境,看看他如何解決問題,欣賞某些人物的高貴情操與傑出表現……。這樣,學生應該可以得到學習歷史的樂趣,也可以擴大自己的生活經驗。 
        課程進行中,也會介紹歷史家的觀點與歷史學者的論證,讓學生了解「過去」是 怎樣被我們所「理解」。還會印發一些資料,在課堂中討論,課餘再發五篇左右,既有學術意義,又適合學生認知能力的「論文」,要學生研讀。這些做法,相信對於學生「歷史思維能力」的提升,必有助益。


The content of this course  is basically the same as in “History of China(a)” . The only difference is that  I will focus more  on the discussions on 'evolution' and 'development'. ,   Students who have  taken 'History of China (a)' are allowed to drop out this course.  History is the knowledge determined by time. Also, evolution and development are important issues in this course. However, it is people’s efforts that caused major changes and promoted the overall development in history. Therefore, the characters' performances and people's  attitude will be the main point in this course. With professor's instruction, students will be leaded into the ancient history of Chinato find out the historical condition which people encountered, to learn about the way of solving problems. and to appreciate the noble sentiments of some historical characters. In this way, students will be able to experience the pleasure of learning history, and expand their living experiences.

 

In order to make students understand how  we comprehend the past, the historians’ viewpoints and their arguments will be introduced in this course. Also, some other related materials  will be given in  class, and five papers with academic significances will be given to the students after class. By those practices, it should be beneficial to improve students' ability of 'historical thinking'.

【課程介紹】
     Description of the course
       這門課程的內容與「中國通史(一)」基本相同,只是在「演變」與「發展」方面加重分量,探討稍多而已。所以,曾修習「中國通史(一)」的同學不可再修習此課程。反之亦然。歷史是一門時間的學問,演變與發展當然是重要的課題,但是造成重大變化,推動整體發展,仍然是人的努力。因此,關於人物的性格與表現,人們的關懷與心態,應是這門課程的講授重點。在教師的引導下,帶領同學進入離我們已有千年以上的中國古代,認識一些人們的活動,瞭解他們的處境,看看他如何解決問題,欣賞某些人物的高貴情操與傑出表現……。這樣,學生應該可以得到學習歷史的樂趣,也可以擴大自己的生活經驗。
       課程中會介紹歷史家的觀點與歷史學者的論證,讓學生了解「過去」是怎樣被我們所「理解」。也會印發一些資料,在課堂中討論,課餘再發五篇左右,既有學術意義,又適合學生認知能力的「論文」,要學生研讀。這些做法,相信對於學生「歷史思維能力」的提升,必有助益。

The content of this course is basically the same as in “History of China(a)”. The only difference is that I will focus more on the discussions on ’evolution’ and ’development’. Students who have taken ’History of China (a)’ are allowed to drop out this course.  History is the knowledge determined by time. Also, evolution and development are important issues in this course. However, it is people’s efforts that caused major changes and promoted the overall development in history. Therefore, the characters’ performances and people’s attitude will be the main point in this course. With professor’s instruction, students will be led into the ancient history of China to find out the historical condition which people encountered, to learn about the way of solving problems, and to appreciate the noble sentiments of some historical characters. In this way, students will be able to experience the pleasure of learning history, and expand their living experiences.

In order to make students understand how we comprehend the past, the historians’ viewpoints and their arguments will be introduced in this course. Also, some other related materials will be given in class, and five papers with academic significances will be given to the students after class. By those practices, it should be beneficial to improve students’ ability of ’historical thinking’.
