Course description
Thisis an introductory lab-based QIST course. There are two main themes: (1)quantum optics, and (2) quantum spin. In quantum optics lab, we explore varioustopics on quantum foundation through single-photon experiments. In quantum spinlab, we implement laser and microwave sequences to achieve coherent controls ofroom-temperature nitrogen-vacancy qubits. There are no prerequisites forenrollment, but a general knowledge about quantum mechanics, quantum optics, orquantum information will be helpful. Essential theoretical background of eachexperiment will be covered in the lectures.
