【課程說明 Description of the course
       What is this course about  
    人類對於周遭事物,如何隨時間與環境而變化,都充滿好奇心。我們要如何用物理學推敲出萬物的變化,或基於系統性的觀察而提出新的想法,這就是普通物理(ㄧ)的課程目標。那要如何養成研究問題的邏輯與方法呢?本課程以牛頓提出的力學為例,除了學習力學定律之外,也鼓勵同學探討牛頓提出這些理論的原因,同時思考章節之間的關聯性,例如在牛頓的向量力學架構下,已經可以解釋物體的運動,為何還需學習新的能量概念等等。 
     課程內容涵蓋基礎牛頓力學、功與能量概念,在熟悉單粒子運動後,將建構簡單的多粒子系統(剛體)所遵守的物理規則(轉動運動),基於以上的物理知識,詳細探討日常生活中常見的物理現象,如重力、固體與流體、振盪、波動等。同時也將探討愛因斯坦為何會提出不同於牛頓力學的特殊相對論,以及在特殊相對論中架構下,為何在不同慣性座標系的觀察者們,對時間、空間的認知會有所不同。

      We are all curious about how nature works. In order to better grasp the fundamental rules that govern our daily life experiences, this course – General Physics (I) – aims to develop students’ abilities in logical reasoning and scientific problem solving. How do we achieve that goal? For example, we will learn Newton’s laws of motion and gravity in this course. The physics of these laws are important, but how Newton and other scientists discovered (or what motivates them to discover) these laws are equally important as well. In addition, we will learn their logical reasoning processes and systematic approaches to tackle problems. Furthermore, it is crucial to make connections between physics topics and form your own understanding of each topics. For example, since Newton’s laws of motion are sufficient to solve mechanics problem, why do we need to introduce the concept of energy to solve the same mechanics problem. 
      This course will cover Newton's laws of motion and the concept of work & energy. After fully understand the motion of single particle, we then construct a simple many-particle system (Rigid Body), and explore the physical laws it follows (Rotational Motion). Based on the understanding of motion of single particle and many-particle systems, we will discuss the physical phenomena occurred in our daily life, such as gravity, solid & fluid, oscillations and waves. Moreover, we will talk about why Einstein proposed special relativity despite success of Newton’s laws of motion in classical mechanics. Within Einstein’s framework of special relativity, we will demonstrate why observers have different perspectives on time duration and spatial length in different inertial reference frames?

    本課程旨在介紹超短(10^-12~10^-15秒)雷射光脈衝之產生、量測、傳播、色散管理、及其潛在應用。此一技術提供的超精密時間解析度可用以觀測前所未知的短暫分子動態。所產生之巨大尖峰功率(>10^15瓦)足以突破原子基本引力,或驅動物質產生顯著之非線性效應,從而獲得 一系列新的(如中紅外光、極紫外光)同調光譜成份。
    This course is aimed to introduce the generation, measurement, propagation, dispersion management and applications of ultra-short laser pulses in the picosecond to femtosecond regime (10^-12~10^-15 second). The ultra-high time resolution enables diagnosis of transient molecular dynamics. The tremendous peak power (>10^15 Watt) is sufficient to break atomic bonds or induce a broadband of coherent spectrum from the mid-infrared to extreme ultraviolet via significant non-linear effects.

Course outline

    The course will be given on the basis of 3 hours a week (Tuesday, 10~12 AM and Thursday, 11~12 AM) in 綜合三館 room 203.
 The materials for teaching will be regularly posted on the course website (http://www.stat.nthu.edu.tw/~swcheng/Teaching/math2820/).
 
      This course is an introduction to the theory and application of statistical methods. We will particularly focus on probability models and modern statistical concepts, and methods developed in a mathematical framework. Topics to be covered include random variables and their various properties,statistical inference (point and interval estimation, hypothesis testing), statistical modeling for experimental and observational data, survey sampling, some aspects of experimental design, Bayesian analysis, decision theory, and a variety of real applications such as two-sample comparison and analysis of variance.

一、課程說明Course Description 
   這門課在其它各校中文系都是必修課,本系因特殊狀況,才改為選修。對於有志中學任教者,修過這門課固然是教育部方面的要求;對於意圖報考其他學校中文研究所的同學來說,恐怕也是不可或缺的。

    學問講求累積。好比:高中生知道十三經、二十四史的書名,即可;大學生到畢業的時候,就應該知道十三經、四史傳世最權威的註解者姓名,以及有關這些書籍體制方面的一些重要常識,豈有愈走愈回頭的道理?十年前,一位剛從外校考進本系碩士班的同學發現:本校大學部出身的同學連黃季剛是誰都不知道,居然還有人問:顧頡剛是哪個朝代的人,她懷疑自己是否走錯地方了。由此可見本系同學古典素養之貧瘠。本課程不好高騖遠,只希望能將經、史、子、集四方面最普通的常識告訴大家。
 
   作學問最怕「陋」。問題意識是隨著素養而來,素養愈單薄,愈看不出問題;或自以為是問題,不知前人早已解決到某一程度了;或者雖然尚待解決,處理時卻缺乏廣度與深度。當好不容易有了一個不錯的問題,想處理時,卻不知道要參考哪些書;或雖知道,因為外行,集大成的書未用,用的是二三流的作品;即便知道該用哪本書,卻因不懂書籍撰寫的體例,工夫都不知道該如何下手。
 
    一般認為這門課是介紹性課程,所以都開設在大一。這恐怕犯了形式主義的謬誤。因為從實際學習 結果而言,最好先已經在其他課堂上零星知道一些人名、書名,實際讀過一點古人註解的古籍,再 透過這門課統貫、整理、補充、解說,才較能加深印象,不至流於死背,過後即忘。

四、教學方式Teaching Method
        【單方面講授】
 講授時,會拿一些文獻實物為例說明,以免說了半天,還說不清楚。另外,希望同學利用圖書館,自己動手翻撿現代書局影印的古籍,以加深學習的印象。

這門課的內容是許多零星的人名、書名、術語、概念累積成的,這些知識必須都刻在腦海裡,成為學習生活的一部份。如同要辦場舞會,需要準備哪些東西,馬上就浮現腦海,不待臨時上網站搜尋或向他人問計。如此,才能稱之為素養,因此,記憶是最要緊的。因此,不要高估自己的才能,上课一定得記筆記。



五、教學進度Syllabus
 
    由於經部的問题特别多,所以大概要到其中之後,方能將這些部分結束。史部、子部必知,却來不及講的部分,會以講義代替。以過往的經驗,集部幾乎無時間碰觸,好在指定課本的這部分相當簡明,涵蓋面也夠充分。 

    知識與研究憑藉應該與時俱進,所以將隨著講授的部分,介紹與傳世古籍密切相關,且有重大意義 的近世出土文獻。好比馬王堆、雙古堆的《周易》與今本《周易》有頗多差異;銀雀山出土前所未見的兵書,證實《漢志》所云,《吳孫子兵法》之外確實有《齊孫子兵法》;前些年自海外購回、贈與 北京清華大學的一批簡中赫然見到失傳二千年的《尚書‧說命》,可愈發坐實所謂古文《尚書》多出的部分乃偽造,一掃近年為之辯枉的謬論。

本課程的撰寫重點在於:將工程實務、圖學理論、工具軟體三者結合成為一體,以迎接新世代 的電腦輔助設計與繪圖。傳統圖學介紹著重基礎製圖規範與圖學理論之介紹,以及平面視圖與立體視 圖之理論解說及繪製,內容偏重製圖規範及理論傳授;而傳統之電腦輔助設計繪圖軟體課程,多以強 調軟體的操作為主,輔以圖形範例進行繪圖之示範。

 

課程說明Course Description 

     本課程的撰寫重點在於:將工程實務、圖學理論、工具軟體三者結合成為一體,以迎接新世代 的電腦輔助設計與繪圖。傳統圖學介紹著重基礎製圖規範與圖學理論之介紹,以及平面視圖與立體視 圖之理論解說及繪製,內容偏重製圖規範及理論傳授;而傳統之電腦輔助設計繪圖軟體課程,多以強 調軟體的操作為主,輔以圖形範例進行繪圖之示範。然而,隨著電腦輔助設計繪圖軟體的日趨成熟,如何將基礎圖學與電腦輔助設計繪圖軟體進行適切的整合,已成為當務之急。因此,本課程特色將朝 以下的目標發展:從設計實務的觀點,進行圖學理論的介紹,清晰表達圖學的內涵;從軟體應用的觀 點,進行設計繪圖的操作,完整發揮軟體的特色;並進一步加以整合構成電腦輔助設計圖學,並規劃實際之計畫範例,進行整合的工作,期使本課程能夠成為兼具學術及工程價值。 
 
     課程所採用的軟體為Autodesk Inventor,是為3D參數式設計專家,涵蓋層面計有電腦輔助繪圖(CAD)、電腦輔助設計製圖(CADD)、電腦輔助工程(CAE),從繪圖、設計、運動分析模擬、動態分析模擬、彩現擬真動畫,甚至發展到電腦輔助工業設計(CAID),期待參與的同學能夠非常開心的來學習這門課程。
