Course Description
《紅樓夢》是中國古典文學裡最重要的小說，知名作家白先勇先生譽為「天下第一書」。在全球化的數位時代裡，身在台灣的我們如何閱讀並理解《紅樓夢》？我們可以與這部經典著作建立什麼樣的交流和對話？由台積電文教基金會贊助，清華大學通識中心、語文中心、中文系共同規劃的「白先勇清華文學講座」，將邀請白先勇教授等多位海內外學者與專家，帶領學生探索《紅樓夢》的人物與情感世界，領略經典文學傳世之美，拓展古今文化視野，培養清華學子的人文關懷。
本課程在白先勇先生帶領下，由多位教授以專題演講方式共同授課，並安排助教帶讀。一方面希望提供修課學生更多元的視角，從文學、歷史、美學、藝術、社會生活、現代科技與理論等各個層面探尋《紅樓夢》所展現的文化大觀園；另一方面，則希望帶領同學閱讀文本，回歸經典本身，結合當代思維，仔細理解《紅樓夢》的審美情趣、生命體悟與文學價值。
本課程以主題規劃進度，每一次上課如同專題演講，讓同學們可以藉由老師們融會貫通的引導，進入《紅樓夢》繁複優雅的大千世界。同時，為了讓同學們充分掌握並吸收上課內容，每次上課將安排助教帶讀專題演講所涉及的相關片段，詳細為同學解釋文字義理，說明篇章內涵，讓即便是從未接觸過《紅樓夢》的同學，也可以藉由本次通識課的機會，一窺古典文學堂奧，享受經典閱讀的樂趣。對於曾經讀過《紅樓夢》的同學來說，則可以藉由老師們多年潛心研究的心得，重新發現《紅樓夢》之所以值得一讀再讀的精采。
